Time - Bk. 1
A Wrinkle in Time
by Madeleine L'Engle
Meg's father is a scientist who has disappeared. The Murry family has not known his whereabouts or what even happened to him.
One stormy night, an eccentric acquaintance of her brother's (Charles Wallace), visits the Murry family and informs them that she knows where Mr. Murry is.
Charles, Meg and Calvin (a boy from Meg's school) embark on a quest into time and space to some unique planets in search of him.
A story which is suited to younger teens as an introduction to fantasy/science fiction. Story of a girl who feels ill at ease in society and realises she had more to offer than she thought. Using wit and intelligence to overcome the enemy who has captured her father, Meg displays a more subtle form of strength and self appreciation.
